Wind suddenly picked up around 4pm so I hot-footed it to the beach. Then it dropped just after I had finished rigging up grrrr, as a big rain cloud passed over. Hung around for a bit, changed out of my wetsuit, was just about to pack up and leave when the wind came back. Wetsuit back on and onto the water. Nicely powered up going out, then gybed, fell in, couldn't get planing on the way back in. Blobbed out again, quite a long way not planing, when I noticed another menacing rain cloud not far away, and lightning too :eek: So blobbed back in a long way downwind, fortunately before the cloud passed over and any wind swing to offshore. Long walk of shame back to the car, through a hail storm. Bollox.
